University of Oslo offers ESOP scholarship for master thesis to students at the Department of Economics, or other departments at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The thesis must be relevant to one or more of ESOP’s research areas i.e. the Welfare State, Social Organization, Development and Globalization, Income and Social Mobility, Institutions and Society Models and Foundational Issues. Each scholarship is NOK 15,000 paid in one payment. Applicants are invited to attend ESOP’s research seminars and workshops. Up to four ESOP scholarships are announced, but we may choose not to award any if no excellent candidates are found. The application deadline is October 20, 2013.

Scholarship Description: When deciding topics for your master thesis, you should consider choosing a project with relevance for one or more of ESOP’s research areas. If you do so, you could apply for The ESOP Scholarship, which grant you money, prestige, and access to a dynamic and ambitious research environment.To be considered for the ESOP scholarship, the thesis must be relevant to one or more of ESOP’s research areas. Applicants are supposed to have at least one supervisor among the ESOP research staff. Applicants should contact their supervisor to discuss a project plan.
